USA Tariff Guide

Hi everyone! You may have heard about some changes to customs requirements for goods being imported to the USA, including that goods valued at $800 USD or less will no longer be exempt from import duties and taxes from Friday 29 August 2025.

Customers in the USA are now required to pay an import duty, prior to postage, for your package to be delivered. I plan to remain open to USA customers, and support you guys as much as I can. This page will (hopefully) act as a guide for any questions. If you cannot find your answer and want to get in touch then please contact me through the contact page.

By placing an order on this site, you acknowledge the tariff on imports to the United States.

Common Questions

What is this tariff?

On 5th April 2025, the United States imposed a 10% tariff on most goods imported from all around the world, including the United Kingdom, overriding the existing trade agreements between the USA and UK. The tariff is enforced by US Customs Border Protection.

On 30th July 2025, the United States Government announced an Executive Order which outlined significant changes to the customs requirements and processes for goods being imported into the USA from 29th August 2025. These changes affect goods entering the USA from any country in the world, including the UK.

Removal of duty-free for low value items: Previously, items valued at less than $800 USD could enter the USA without having to pay customs duties. That’s changing and from 29th August, goods, regardless of value, may now be subject to import tariffs (duties). These duties must be paid by USA customers before items reach the United States.

Will this change in the future? I'm not sure. This 10% fee may go up or down. Any upcoming changes will depend on what the current US Federal Administration decides on.

How do I pay?

  • Upon checking out of this store, you will be prompted to confirm that you have read and understood these terms.

  • During checkout, you will see your order total, shipping price, and how much duty you have to pay (dependent on your order subtotal).

  • After you've checked out, your order will be processed and sent with Royal Mail.

  • Your parcel will land in the US and once through Customs, it will be marked as 'DDP' (Delivered Duties Paid) and be handed over to USPS to finish the delivery.

  • You should not have to pay any extra fees for delivery, as you have paid your duties during checkout.

What happens if I don't pay it?

You will not be able to check out without paying for duties. This is now a legal requirement for shipping to the USA.

Why can't you pay it?

I'm sorry, at this point, I can’t pay these duties on your behalf.

Decisions are made by USA authorities, and I don’t control them. In this case, I am responsible for collection of duties. As the "importer", you are liable to pay those duties.

A gentle reminder of the terms stated in the Shipping Policy:

PLEASE NOTE; I am not responsible for delayed shipment or lost orders. If there are any issues receiving a parcel after it has been shipped, it is the customer's responsibility to get in contact with their postal service. I cannot offer refunds or replacements due to issues as such.

Please keep in mind customers outside of the United Kingdom may have to pay customs fees. I am not responsible for such fees, nor do I have any control over them.
