Why Commission a Painting?
A commissioned painting is an investment in something truly special. Unlike a print or digital image, every brushstroke is painted by hand, making it a one-of-a-kind piece created specifically for you.
The materials I use are box canvases, acrylic & oil paints, and varnishes.
Examples of commissions
- Fantasy characters (single or multiple figures)
- Scenes inspired by a fantasy/romantasy book
- A meaningful or iconic item from a story, such as "Lavender Soap"
- A bookish cosplay
- Fantasy landscapes (e.g. Yvelia, Prythian, or Terrasen)
Pricing
Final quotes will vary depending on the complexity, subject, and level of detail. If you have something specific in mind, feel free to enquire for a tailored quote.

Turnaround Time
Timelines vary depending on the piece and my current schedule and the complexity of the piece. Please allow at least 8 weeks, though it may take longer.
When requesting your commission, please keep in mind the painting, drying, and varnishing time can vary. I must make sure it is completely dry to be able to ship it to you.
After the painting is finished, I will request the full payment before shipping.
(Expedited commissions available at an additional fee.)

Ownership & Permitted Use
When you commission a painting, you are purchasing the original physical artwork, not the copyright to the image.
I retain the copyright and reproduction rights to all artwork I create unless otherwise agreed in writing. This means I may share images of the finished piece in my portfolio, on my website, on social media, or in other promotional materials.
As the client, you are welcome to:
- Display the original painting in your home or personal space
- Share photos of the artwork on social media, with credit appreciated but not required
- Use the painting for personal enjoyment and non-commercial purposes
- Gift or resell the original physical painting, as you would with any artwork you own
You may not:
- Reproduce the artwork as prints, posters, merchandise, digital downloads, or other products
- Use the artwork commercially or for profit without permission
- Claim the artwork itself as your own creation
- Remove, cover, or alter my signature
- Edit, alter, or create derivative works from the artwork without my consent
- Use the artwork for AI training, NFTs, or any blockchain-related resale
If you would like to use the artwork commercially, license it, or request exclusive rights, this must be discussed and agreed separately before use. Commercial licensing, copyright transfer, or full exclusivity will require custom pricing and written permission.
Payment
I offer split payment plans for commissions. All commissions require a 50% upfront deposit to secure your place in my queue. For my protection, this deposit is non-refundable.
Once your commission has been accepted, I will create a private listing for you through this Shopify store. This listing will include your agreed payment plan, instalment amounts, and due dates.
The remaining balance will be split according to the agreed payment plan. I will email you when each payment is due, and all payments must be made through your private Shopify listing.
The final artwork will only be shipped once the full balance has been paid. If a payment is not received within 5 working days of the due notification, this may be treated as a breach of contract and may result in the non-refundable termination of the commission.
Any payments or monetary compensation made outside of the agreed Shopify listing, or without my written consent, will be treated as a donation and are therefore non-refundable.
For commissions over £500, I offer flexible instalment plans with a minimum 50% deposit upfront.
Cancellation
In case of cancellation of the commission:
- If the artist has not started the sketch/work in progress yet, the client will recieve a total refund.
- If a sketch/work in progress has been sent by the artist, the client will no longer be eligible for a refund, but will not need to pay the remaining balance.
- If the commission is cancelled by the artist, the client will receive a total refund.
In case of cancellation of the order, the client has no rights to use any of the images, sketches or completed works of the artist.
